Payment Policy

 

Icon Cookery School requires payment to be made in full prior to the class time to secure a spot. Once your payment has been received your booking in your chosen class is secured. 

 

 

All prices outlined on this website include GST.

 

 

Please note: All purchases made through this website to Icon Cookery School are non-refundable and non-transferable to another class date unless previously discussed with Icon Cookery School.

 

 

Icon Cookery School accepts payments through this website using Secure Pay and Afterpay and accepts all major credit cards. We also accept cash books with us in person at our main office in Robina Town Centre and direct deposits for all corporate and event bookings.

 

 

Pre-purchased gift vouchers are also accepted as payment towards a cooking class.  To book a class with a pre-paid gift certificate you can book online using your unique voucher number for payment.

 

 

Gift vouchers are valid for 3 years from the date of purchase. Vouchers purchased prior to 1st November 2019 are valid for 6 months from date of purchase. Gift vouchers are non-refundable and must be used by the expiry date and will not be extended. 

 

 

When your booking is complete and processed successfully, you will receive an automated email outlining your booking. This is your booking confirmation. Should there be any problem with your payment we will email you within 48 hours.

 

 

Cancellation and Transfer Policy

 

Icon Cookery School reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class for reasons concerning Icon Cookery School. If a class has been cancelled due to low attendance, sickness or any other matter regarding Icon Cookery School, all participants will be notified within 48 hours of the class commencement date, and the option to reschedule to another date, or to be issued with a store credit to the full cost of their booking.

 

 

In the event a participant needs to cancel a booked class, cancellation more than 5 days prior to the date of the class, the option of a store credit or reschedule to another class is available (subject to availability within that class).

 

 

No refunds are available for cancellations of any kind unless previously discussed and agreed upon by Icon Cookery School.

For cancellations of a class within 3 days of the commencement date, the full amount of the class will be forfeited and NO option for rescheduling, store credit or refund will be available.

 

 

 

All classes are transferrable to another person and cancelling participants can send someone to take their place.

 

A minimum number of participants is required to run a scheduled class. In the event that minimum numbers are not reached, Icon Cookery School reserves the right to reschedule the class. If the class is rescheduled, participants will be notified as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours before the class.

 

 

Attending a Class

 

To ensure that our classes run smoothly, please treat the booking as you would any other ticketed event and turn up on time for the beginning of the class. We kindly ask that you arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your commencement time as we will be still preparing for your class.

 

If you cannot make it for any reason, please let us know as soon as you can. We spend time preparing for each class and purchasing fresh food to ensure we provide you with the best possible ingredients and experience for yourself and fellow participants.

 

As a matter of Health and Safety, we require that all participants wear closed, non-slip, shoes. Individuals wearing thongs, open-toed shoes, sandals and high heels will not be allowed to participate in a class.

 

 

General Terms and Conditions

 
RIGHT TO REFUSE
 

Icon Cookery School holds the right to refuse a participant to attend a class if the instructor feels they are intoxicated or may cause harm to themselves or anyone else attending the scheduled class.

 

 

RELEASE OF LIABILITY
 

 When participating in an Icon Cookery School class/dinner/event, whereby the participant will be around or using sharp and potentially dangerous tools suitable to a kitchen environment, the participant releases, indemnifies and excludes Icon Cookery School and its employees from any and all liability of any kind for any damage or injury incurred while attending or visiting Icon Cookery School. The participant understands these terms and conditions and accepts the inherent risks of a kitchen environment when they make a full payment for a scheduled class/dinner/event.

 

Unless the class is specified as a children’s class, unaccompanied class attendees must be 16 years of age or older.

 

Photographs may be taken during the classes and used for marketing or promotional purposes. Photos of children will only be used by us with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you do not want us to use photos of you, please let us know.

 

In classes where it is specified that ‘matched wine/beer is included, there is a strict allowance for a glass of wine or beer per participant included in your booking. This alcohol is only to be consumed as part of the sit-down meal at the conclusion of cooking. (proof of age may be required). Any other alcohol consumed is to be paid apart and it is your responsibility to not drink and drive. 

 

 

START TIME
 

Classes run by Icon Cookery School will start on time. We advise participants to arrive 15 minutes early to minimise the chance of missing any of their lesson time. If a participant is late for a class, it is their responsibility to catch up with the rest of the class and minimise disruption, as Icon Cookery School instructors will not have the time to interrupt the class and begin again for any late participant.

 

Icon Cookery School does not cater for individual dietary requirements beyond what is denoted on the class schedule. If you have questions regarding the dietary suitability of certain classes please email us at info@iconcookeryschool.com.au

 

Icon Cookery School is unable to provide alternatives or substitute ingredients for participants with special dietary needs unless notified and organised with Icon Cookery School in advance.

 

 

DAMAGE/LOSS OF PERSONAL PROPERTY
 

 

Icon Cookery School will take all necessary care, but accepts no responsibility for the damage to, or loss of, merchandise left in the venue prior to, during or after a class/event/function. Icon Cookery School is not responsible for the loss or damage of personal items in any form. If a participant does happen to leave an item in class, the participant has 14 days to retrieve the item otherwise Icon Cookery School will donate it to charity.

 

 

DAMAGE/LOSS OF ICON PROPERTY
 

The participant or function organiser may be held financially responsible for any damage to, or loss of, Icon Cookery School property during the class/event/function. The cost of repairing any damage to walls, doors or other parts of the property as a result of inappropriate conduct will be charged to the person or hiring company involved.

 

 

CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND THE CONTROL OF ICON COOKERY SCHOOL
 

Should Icon Cookery School be unable to provide for your class or function due to circumstances beyond the control of Icon Cookery School, Icon Cookery School is not responsible for any costs, damages or expenses that you may suffer or incur.

 

 

IN THE EVENT OF A DISASTER OR EMERGENCY
 

All cookery classes are based on-site at Icon Cookery School and are not relocatable. In the event of an emergency or disaster, all impacted classes would need to be rescheduled, pending facility conditions. In the event that Icon Cookery School is unable to reschedule any class for the foreseeable future, an option to provide a credit would be available to all paid customers. For more information on Icon’s emergency and disaster handling, please contact the Icon staff for a copy of our Emergency Management Plan.

This website is owned and operated by Icon Cookery School. The use of this website is subject to our terms and conditions.

 

Icon Cookery School is wheelchair accessible. Customers requiring wheelchair access should notify Icon Cookery School in the special requests section when booking. To avoid injury, customers in wheelchairs may experience greater demonstration elements in their workshop.

 

 

SOCIAL MEDIA
 

Icon Cookery School reserves the right to take photos and videos of the classes being run and use footage and photos to market future products. Please notify class organisers if you wish your images not to be recorded or used for marketing purposes.

 

 

 

 

Corporate, Private Events, Birthday Parties, Group bookings –  Terms, Conditions and Refund

 

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT

 

 

All classes must be paid for in advance. Payment can be made through our website or in person at the school. Enrolment is confirmed upon receipt of payment. We accept all major credit cards and cash.

 

 

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

 

 

Cancellations need to be done at least 7 days prior to the event. No refunds are made. You can reschedule the booking if cancellations are done 7 days prior.

 

 

RESCHEDULING 

 

 

If you need to reschedule your booking, please give us at least 7 days’ notice. If you reschedule less than 7 days before the scheduled class, there will incur charges for the new class.

 

 

CLASS SIZE

 

 

Corporate bookings have a minimum amount of ten (10) participants and that will be the minimum charge even if there are fewer than ten participants. The number of maximum participants varies according to the class.

 

 

SAFETY

 

 

Participants must follow all safety instructions given by the cooking instructor. The school reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any participant who fails to comply with these instructions. All participants are expected to comply with health and safety requirements, including wearing appropriate clothing and footwear. Enclosed shoes must be worn.

 

 

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS 

 

 

Participants are responsible for informing us of any allergies or dietary restrictions they may have. We cannot guarantee accommodations for all diets, but we will make an effort to provide suitable options.

 

 

ALCOHOL 

 

 

We reserve the right to refuse service of alcohol to any participant who is unable to provide valid proof of legal drinking age or who appears to be intoxicated.

 

 

PHOTOGRAPHY/RECORDING 

 

 

By attending our classes, you agree to be photographed or filmed for promotional and marketing purposes. Participants are allowed to take photos and/or recordings during class for personal use only. They may not publish or distribute any materials taken during class online or elsewhere without the explicit permission of the school.

 

 

LIABILITY

 

 

We are not responsible for any injuries or damages sustained by participants during the class. Participants assume full responsibility for their actions during class.

 

 

SCHEDULE CHANGES

 

We reserve the right to change class schedules, instructors and themes as necessary.
